Solar panels (also known as PV or photovoltaic cells) capture sunlight and with an inverter, convert it into electricity that we can all use.
Under the government’s Net Energy Metering (NEM) programme, solar systems are linked to the TNB power grid. They export excess solar electricity to TNB and draw from it when needed. The grid effectively serves as storage, so a battery isn’t essential.
Solar panels can be installed on most roof types (excluding shingle and asbestos), as long as the roof is in good condition and properly angled to receive sufficient direct sunlight.
Yes, as long as there is sufficient space on your roof.
It still works using available sunlight, but expect a slightly reduced output.
Solar panels don’t work at night because they need sunlight to generate electricity.
No, your solar system will shut down during a TNB outage to safeguard TNB technicians working on repairs. It will automatically resume once TNB power is restored.
It’s clean, renewable, not generated by fossil fuels (oil, gas and coal) and doesn’t emit any harmful pollutants.
You need approvals from authorities like SEDA and TNB to secure your Net Energy Metering (NEM) benefits. We’ll explain everything during our site visit and take care of all applications and approvals for you.

If you live within a gated community, you may also need to obtain a permit from your management office for us to conduct the installation.
Solar panels are similar to other electrical appliances in your home, like refrigerators and air conditioners, in terms of safety.
Solar panels are free from harmful radiation. The electric field radiation from inverters is minimal, similar to that of a fluorescent light tube.
Not when designed and installed correctly. Our solar system designs exceed industry standards and local regulations, ensuring utmost protection with earthing, circuit breakers and surge protection for both panels and inverters. All our installers are licensed by the respective authoritative bodies, ensuring professional and safe installations.
Yes. We install panels on a mounting structure to ensure no direct contact or damage. As a bonus, they can help cool down your roof.
Yes, most roofs can. To ensure safety, we consult with you and conduct a physical inspection to check for issues like termite damage and water leaks before installation.
If it needs repairs, it’s best to sort that out before the panels go up. If not, we’re good to go.

Net Energy Metering (NEM) is a government incentive scheme that allows you to install a solar panel system to generate your own electricity and reduce your electricity bills.
Here’s a simple explanation:
Under NEM, excess energy is sent to TNB, essentially selling back at the rate you pay. This results in a ‘net’ amount in your monthly TNB bill.
These credits offset your TNB bills in the months ahead, up to 31 December each year.
The contract for NEM lasts for 10 years.
You may continue to save on your TNB bill by directly using the solar electricity generated by your system. Additionally, as technology advances, using a battery for storage and consumption may become a more feasible option.
Yes, if you’re a registered TNB consumer in Peninsular Malaysia with your name on both the property title and the bill.
NEM has a limited quota, so it’s a good idea to secure your share early and not miss out on the benefits.
Yes, you are eligible for the cash rebate of up to RM4,000 through the Solar for Rakyat Incentive Scheme (SolaRIS). The rebate will be paid directly into your bank account by TNB, subject to the terms and conditions of the SolaRIS programme. Please note that SolaRIS is managed entirely by TNB.
